Social Work Services
Patients at The Frankford Hospital Cancer Center have convenient access to an oncology social worker who provides individual, couples, and family counseling to address an array of concerns cancer patients and their loved ones may encounter after a cancer diagnosis. The social worker can help with such issues as adjustment to illness, communicating with family and friends, and planning for services needed to support the patient and family.
This individual can also assist with programs dealing with financial aid, disability, medication assistance, and home care resources. Frankford Hospital Cancer Center’s team of social workers facilitates a variety of support groups that deal with the transitions experienced by the cancer patient and their family. Referrals for social work services are coordinated by the medical and nursing staff of GPCHS.
